Level 2 PICU experience preferred. Strong critical care assessment skills required.

Experience with paediatric triage and emergency assessment valued.
What you need

What you need to work in this specialty.

Requirement Detail
Minimum experience Minimum 12 months post-graduate experience with at least 12 months in a paediatric setting. PICU roles require specific paediatric critical care experience.
Pre-arrival certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) must be current. Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS or APLS) preferred for PICU and Paediatric ED roles. Child protection training may be required.
Orientation period Typically 1–2 weeks. PICU orientations tend to be longer given the acuity and complexity of the patient population.
AHPRA registration Required before starting work. We can provide guidance and support throughout the AHPRA process.
