What you need to work in this specialty.
| Requirement | Detail |

| Minimum experience | Minimum 12 months post-graduate midwifery experience. AHPRA registration as a Midwife is required. |
| Pre-arrival certifications | Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) preferred and may be required for some facilities. CTG competency beneficial to hold, however further Australian assessment may be required. |
| Orientation period | Orientation will be dependent on facility, contract and area of placement. |
| AHPRA registration | Required before starting work. We can provide guidance and support throughout the AHPRA process. |

One important note for midwives: AHPRA registers midwives separately from nurses. If you hold dual registration with the NMC, you will need to apply for both in Australia.
